Around 700,000 Palestinian students headed to their schools across the West Bank to start the 2014-2015 school year, according to the Palestinian Information and News Agency "WAFA" today .
Meanwhile around 500,000 students in Gaza have been deprived from going to school due to the ongoing Israeli aggression on the strip for 48 days now, WAFA reported.
The school year 2014-2015 started on Sunday in the West Bank governorates, whereas it has been delayed in the Gaza Strip due to the ongoing Israeli aggression which started on July 8, said the Ministry of Education.
Schools in Gaza were turned into shelters to accommodate the thousands of internally-displaced Palestinians, whose houses had been bombarded during the ongoing offensive, forcing them to seek refuge at schools and hospitals.
The Ministry said the first school class in the West Bank will be dedicated to addressing the ongoing Israeli military onslaught on Gaza. The students will then get to the streets in solidarity with their counterparts in Gaza, WAFA concluded its report.
