Around 8.6 million pupils of the three educational levels will head for schools across the country on Sunday, the first day of the 2014-2015 school year.
On this occasion, the Ministry of National Education has mobilized all the necessary material and human resources to ensure smooth start of the new school year for all pupils nationwide, said the chief inspector at the Ministry, Messeguem Medjadi.
All provincial education directors have been instructed to make every effort to that end.
In order to overcome the problem of overcrowding in some schools in the regions that recorded rehousing operations, 88 new secondary schools, 82 intermediate schools and 270 primary schools are expected to open for the new school year, said Medjadi.
