" The national conference on higher education reform is set for June 30-July 1, " Higher Education and Scientific Research Minister Slim Khalbous announced in Paris.
The reform project revolves around university training , employment, human resources, governance and research and innovation, the Minister highlighted at a seminar held Thursday on "the Reform of Higher Education and Scientific Research."
The Ministry will spare no effort to introduce these reforms in the shortest time possible. "This is an urgent societal project," he told TAP on the sidelines of the event that addressed the reform implementation strategy and its prospects.
Students, teachers and concerned actors are all involved in the development of a reform strategy, Khalbous highlighted.
In another connection, the Minister said Tunisian universities need to be accredited by 2023 to establish cooperation with European counterparts. There are only 20,000 researchers in Tunisia and about 6,000 papers which is hardly a sufficient number, he likewise indicated.
