The Kuwait Embassy's Cultural Bureau in Jordan proceeded to award the winners of its First Kuwaiti Poet in Jordan Competition award for students on Friday.
The winners were, in order of first to third, Salem Al-Awni, Nawaf Al-Juaib and Nasser Al-Ajmi.
Their awards were handed to them by ex-Minister of Education Ahmad Al-Mulaifi, who flew in to attend the event, Kuwaiti Ambassador Hamad Al-Duaij and Cultural Attache Mohammad Al-Dhifeeri at Al-Ahliyya Amman University's main theatre.
The competition, held for the first time, grouped 23 contestants - all Kuwaiti academic degree students in Jordan - and is set to continue henceforth on an annual basis, according to Cultural Attache Al-Dhifeeri.
There are around 6,500 Kuwaitis currently receiving their higher education in Jordan.
