The Ministry of Education takes in full consideration the importance of school administrations in the entire learning process, said a ministry official on Tuesday.
A competent school administration can contribute to a wholesome school environment where students ply their skills to absorb the curricula as satisfactorily as possible, said Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education Dr. Haitham Al-Atheri in a speech opening the third conference on comprehensive approaches to educational excellence, slated to run for three days.
Held under the theme "Toward Acquiring A Competent School Administration", the conference deals with new and viable approaches toward creating school administrations with the ability to imbue the educational process with much-needed excellence in instruction and training of students, a fact not lost on those who know that a good education is a building block for advancing the society in all facets, be that in economic or social growth and prosperity, among other things, said Al-Atheri.
In a similar speech, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for curricula development Dr. Saud Al-Harbi said the conference sough to seek modern international approaches to running competent schools with strong administrations.
He said the process of a good education could not be advanced without an effective school administration well-versed in harnessing the talents and skills and potentials of the student body.
This third conference, which deals with the importance of school administrations, comes after the first one in 2010 which tackled the concept of a holistic approach to education, and the second one in 2012 which dealt with developing effective school curricula.
