Japanese and Chinese scholars on Thursday discussed new perspectives for Japan-China Cooperation in Environment and Energy issues at a Japan-China Dialogue held in Tokyo. The theme of the dialogue this year is "toward a future- oriented Japan-China relationship." Seven industry experts from the two countries gave reports covering a wide range of environment and energy related topics, such as air pollution in Japan, the possible reduction of nuclear energy dependency in the long term, the effectiveness of " Reporting System of Environment-conscious Building" in the local government, the trends and drivers of China's overseas solar and wind investment. About 100 people from the Japanese Diet, universities, media organizations and embassies participated in the discussion. The Japan-China Dialogue was co-hosted by the Global Forum of Japan, Beijing Normal University's School of Environment, World Resources Institute, Zhejiang University's College of Public Administration and the Japan Forum on International Relations.
