Iran has denounced Taliban’s attack on an army-run school in Pakistan’s northwestern city of Peshawar, which left at least 141 people dead, most of them children.
“This is a totally un-Islamic and inhumane act. Terrorism, extremism and endangering the lives of innocent people, in any form and with any objective, is condemned,” Press TV quoted Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham as saying.
Underlining the need for peace and unity in Pakistan, Afkham urged cooperation among countries in the region and the world in the fight against terrorism and extremism.
She also highlighted the need for unity and solidarity among Pakistani ethnic and religious groups to put an end to violence in the country.
The Iranian official further extended condolences to the Pakistani government and nation, including the bereaved families of victims, over the tragic incident.
