German Federal Education Minister Johanna Wanka on Tuesday reinforced the importance of occupational training in Germany.
Addressing the opening ceremony of a two-day meeting gathering 500 education managers and experts in Berlin, Wanka said occupational training has traditionally been a central pillar of the German education system and the German economic success.
"Given the increasing competition with universities and full-time educational opportunities, occupational training must be even better, more attractive and more transparent," she told the event organized by the German Federal Ministry for Education and Research.
The event aims to improve educational and professional qualifications in Germany.
