University of Bahrain (UoB)'s French Professor , Dr. Cherifa bin Ammar Al-Baluchi, has compiled a research study on (Francophonism in Bahrain) published in edition No.: 113 of Le Cahiers d'Orient.The French magazine discusses important topics regarding the Arab and Muslim world. The researcher presented copies of the magazine to Bahrain's Embassy in Paris. The study concluded that that interest in the French language is increasingly growing in Bahrain as a compulsory subject of study in primary and intermediate schools. The study also discussed solid diplomatic and business relations between Bahrain and France.The study anticipated a key role for the French language in boosting these relations at all levels. The researcher urged French officials to boost cultural and educational cooperation with Bahrain which undertakes remarkable efforts in Francophonism. Dr. Cherifa received the French Ordre national de la Légion d'Honneur - i.e. Order of Merit - with the rank of Knight from the French Minister In-charge of Francophonism Yamina Benguigui in appreciation for her efforts in boosting the significance of the French language in the Kingdom of Bahrain throughout her professional career when she taught this language in Bahrain for many years, thanks to generous support from Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa and the Kingdom's leaders.Dr. Cherifa is itinerated to lecture at the French Senate upon invitation from the Bahrain-French Friendship Society on the subject of "Francophonism in Bahrain."
