The Martyrs Bureau at the Amiri Diwan has held a ceremony honoring the children of martyrs who were high achievers in the academic year 2013-2014. The ceremony, held at the Abdul Aziz Hussein Theater in Mishref on Tuesday, was sponsored by Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
Addressing the event on behalf of Sheikh Nasser, Deputy Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Ali Jarrah Al-Sabah, expressed pleasure over the event that brings together excellent children of Kuwait martyrs.
They have realized academic excellence through scientific learning and gaining knowledge for the sake of "Kuwait of the Future" which will only be built by the hands of its sons, as stressed by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Sheikh Ali said.
He addressed the honored students saying their achievements offer the best evidence that they are following in the steps of their honest and loyal fathers, the martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for the nation.
Sheikh Ali expressed gratitude to the Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs for his continuous support to the activities and events of the Martyrs Bureau, as well as to the Undersecretaries of the Diwan.
Assistant Undersecretary of the Amiri Diwan and director of the Martyrs Bureau Fatima Al-Amir addressed the ceremony highlighting the sublime support and care by His Highness the Amir to the Kuwaiti people, and the martyrs' children in particular, prompting them to carry on the course of excellence for the their country.
She advised the honored students to stick to truth and to hold accuracy sacrosanct when dealing with social networking so as not to fall into the traps set by "enemies of the nation and humanity" who are promoting crime, terrorism and other negative concepts.
Then a documentary entitled "Our Father, Humanitarian Leader" was displayed, after which a group of students formed national artistic banners. Addressing the ceremony on behalf of the honored students' parents, Mrs Amal Aldwisan expressed appreciation to Sheikh Nasser, who is also chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Martyrs Bureau.
She also thanked organizers of the ceremony, which reflects interest by His Highness the Amir to offer full care to the martyrs' children.
Aldwisan referred to the programs and activities developed by the Martyrs Bureau to extend education support to children of the deceased to carry on with their hard work and realize more excellence.
