Education Minister and Chairman of the Higher Education Council (HEC)Dr. Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi issued an edict stipulating the amendment of some provisions of Resolution No. 2/2007 on the bylaw of the academic and administrative of Higher Education Institutions (HEI).
The amendment stipulates that the maximum weekly teaching hours for a faculty member who is appointed as Vice-President should be (3) credit hours (one subject), a Professor (9) credit hours (three subjects), an Associate professor (12) credit hours (four subjects), Assistant professor, Lecturer and Teacher (15) credit hours (five subjects), such hours may be by (3) credit hours (one subject) for faculty members assigned as Dean, Vice Dean, Head of Department and Director.
The maximum supervision of theses, dissertations, graduation and diploma projects for a Professor (5), Associate professor (4) and Assistant professor who is allowed to supervise according to the bylaw (3).
The maximum credit hours of summer course for a regular Bachelor student are (9).
