Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el Tayyeb on Sunday decided to grant 20 scholarships at Al-Azhar institutes and colleges to graduates of the Islamic school in the Chinese city of Gejiu.
Tayyeb took the decision in a meeting with a delegation of the Islamic school of Shadian Mosque in the Chinese province of Yunnan.
In the meeting, the delegation briefed el Tayyeb on efforts exerted by the school in the field of teaching Arabic and Islamic studies.
The Grand Imam, for his part, asserted al-Azhar readiness to support the school.
