The Abu Dhabi Sports Council has proposed an initiative supporting the participation of 43 students from Abu Dhabi's schools in the Zayed Charity Marathon, which is scheduled to take place in Cairo, Egypt, on 5th December.
The marathon is intended to help raise both funds and awareness for the Children's Cancer Hospital 57375, and to promote ties between the U.A.E. and Egypt in the field of sports.
The third phase of the marathon will coincide with celebrations of the U.A.E.'s 43rd National Day, in accordance with the directives of His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the U.A.E. Armed Forces.
The Abu Dhabi Sports Council initiative, and the decision to choose exactly 43 candidates, reflects the spirit of National Day celebrations and the country's keenness to support the marathon's message in all respects.
