The World Skills competition being held in London kicked off today and will continue till Oct 8th with the Sultanate's participation by a team formed of students from the colleges of technology and vocational training institutes at the Manpower Ministry. The team started competition in nine skills i.e, computer support and applications, website design, networking, graphic design, automobile technology, welding, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning, painting and decoration. The Sultanate's delegation participated in the (work inspiration) conference held today within the events accompanying the competition that also include the conferences of the primary World Skills conferences, that include the work inspiration conference, World Skills Leaders Forum and the World Marketplace Conference. The work inspiration conference aims at preparing the youth for work, facilitating the transition from the study stage to work stage, encouraging the discussion of experiences, skills, scientific capabilities between the employers, armatures and youths. The conference will also host executive presidents together with youths who will present their experiences and success stories in the workplace
