A school bus carrying around two dozen elementary school children has overturned in northern Illinois. Lake County Sherriff's Office spokeswoman Sergeant Sara Balmes says there was no immediate word on any injuries. Fire department personnel quickly arrived at the scene near the village of Wadsworth. Television footage showed the bus on its side, with two mangled cars nearby. Debris was scattered in an adjacent farm field. The bus was taking 25 children to Newport Elementary School in Wadsworth, which is about 45 miles north of Chicago. The accident happened around 0800hrs about a mile from the school, which has some 400 students.
