The health insurance deal for Kuwaiti students residing in the UK came to effect by November first, said a diplomat from the Kuwait Embassy here Friday.Head of the Health Bureau at the embassy Dr. Yaqoob Al-Tammar told KUNA that the deal signed with Bupa Health Assurance Limited would benefit students who submitted the necessary papers, adding that the final deadline for papers submission would be on December 15, 2011.Students should register their names at the Kuwaiti Cultural office and send the necessary documents including their visas as displayed on the office website.Students would be informed by the Bupa company via its website on how to receive treatments in accordance with their insurance, said the diplomat, adding that more information the process would be given during a seminar by the National Union of Kuwaiti Students (NUKS) - UK Branch soon.Al-Tammer said that the deal would cover all medical expenses at private hospitals and clinics; however, the deal would not cover cosmetic surgeries, treatment for infertility, and birth delivery.The official indicated that the deal also would not include Kuwaiti students in Ireland who would receive their insurance via another insurance deal.Health Minister Hilal Al-Sayer signed the deal last July, offering some 2, 000 students in the UK with health insurance. The deal was estimated at 1.9 million Pounds. One British pound equals 0.439 Kuwaiti dinars.
