The Supreme Education Council (SEC) held a seminar on two strategic projects on education and training sectors 2011-2016. The seminar, took place at Doha Four Seasons Hotel, included a presentation on the National Qualifications Framework and education and vocational and technical training project. The Seminar was attended by more than 70 representatives from government bodies, the private sector and other major institutions in the state. Head of SEC's Policy Analysis and Research Office Dr. Azeeza Ahmad Al Saadi delivered a speech in which she hails the participants' contributions to the seminar, which aimed to identify the actual needs of the labor market to determine education and training policies and programs, and therefore to prepare a good plan for the needs of the community of human resources to achieve Qatar National Vision 2030. Pearson, the world's leading learning company, gave a presentation during the seminar on its advisory and expertise services in putting qualifications' frameworks and its plans to assist the SEC's Policy Analysis and Research Office to form a plan for the National Qualifications Framework. On the other hand, the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) also gave a presentation on its advisory services and its experience in education and technical and vocational training. Recently, Head of SEC's Policy Analysis and Research Office said that the Council had started implementing 25 projects in education and training in the framework of the National Development Strategy 2011- 2016. In an interview with Qatar News Agency, Dr. Azeeza Ahmad Al Saadi said the SEC's strategic projects, totalling 31 projects, are the first of its kind in Qatar in the education and training sector. SEC is looking forward to building an educational system that parallels the best educational systems in the world. (QNA)
