A Qatar high school student who fell from the second floor window of his classroom is recovering at home. Grade 11 Mohammad was trying to move from one window to the next while playing with classmates when he fell onto the ground. "He simply misjudged the distance between the two windows and fell," his father said. "He is now at home after he was checked out of hospital. Nothing was broken and he just has bruises," he told Arabic daily Al Raya. The school principal said that there was no foul play and that the accident happened as classmates were playing. "Mohammed wanted to leave the class through one window and re-enter through another," Mohammad Ali Al Emadi said. "Thank God, he is now at home and is recovering from bruises. The wild rumours that circulated on social networks about the accident are baseless," he said, quoted by the daily. The father said that the school was not responsible for what happened and that he received several phone calls from the education authorities to support him and ask about his son. Last week, a high school student was admitted into hospital in critical condition after she reportedly fell from a moving car during a picnic trip. The girl was among a group of students taken out by the school supervisor on the day trip. However, the school said that it had not been informed about the outing and that the supervisor acted upon a personal initiative. The father said that the accident was the culmination of a cascade of errors.
