Paris-Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi (PSUAD) will offer a special intensive French language course this summer to spur an interest and engage students in the French culture. Commencing on July 1, the course will run for over four weeks. Visitors spending the summer in Abu Dhabi can also enrol themselves in these courses to learn French combined with cultural activities to add a different dimension to their vacation in the Capital. The French language class has three course options with varying degrees of intensity. The beginner’s level is aimed at complete beginners to introduce them to French and enhance their vocabulary. The intermediate level is targeted towards students already speaking French but who require additional support, and the intensive level is for those who need rigorous preparation to obtain their French University Diploma. Successful completion of this exam enables students to directly enrol in the extensive academic programmes at Sorbonne Abu Dhabi which requires a confident knowledge of French. “Learning a new language leaves a deep imprint and opens the door to several new possibilities as it forms a bridge between civilisations. Besides boosting cognitive abilities, it also leads to a discovery of a new way of thinking, not just from a linguistic perspective but from a cultural one as well,” said Prof Dr Jean Yves de Cara, executive director of PSUAD.from khaleej times.
