New learning models and low-cost solutions need to be created to deal with equality in skills, nutrition and housing, said Sam Pitroda, advisor to the prime minister on Public Information Infrastructure and Innovations. Speaking at a session on 'Transforming India: Vision for India@2050' organised by the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), Pitroda said: "We need to create our own model of development based on affordability, scalability and sustainability." "Disparity in income, education and urbanisation levels, need for equality in skills, nutrition and housing and for development are challenges before us and to overcome these we should learn to create new learning models and low cost solutions." Speaking at the session, S. Gopalakrishnan, president designate of CII, said that India holds tremendous growth potential and that it can increase the per capita income through innovations propelled by infrastructure, information technology and inclusive growth.
