Mongolia's efforts on the reform and future development of its education were dissected by international experts at a conference which ended here Tuesday. The two-day conference, attended by experts and scholars from the Education Research Institute of Mongolia, local universities, and countries including China, the United States, Japan and Thailand, focused on issues such as preschool education, parent participation in school activities, and reform. A total of 53 theses, written by domestic and foreign scholars, were submitted to the conference. It was the first time Mongolia had invited foreign experts to discuss the country's education policy. The conference was jointly held by the Asian Developing Bank, Mongolia's Eduction and Science Department and the Educational University of Mongolia. Mongolia has attached great importance to the development of education, allocating about 20 percent of its budget to the area.
