Under the patronage of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah a ceremony was held Wednesday to mark Teachers' Day and honor a host of devoted teachers for the scholastic year 2012-2013, at Sheikh Abdullah Al-Jaber Theater at Kuwait University's Shuwaikh Campus. His Highness the Amir deputized Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education Ahmad Abdulmohsen Al-Mulaifi to represent him at the ceremony. The official ceremony began with the performance of the national anthem and then a recitation of the Holy Quran. The Education Minister Al-Mulaifi and the Ministry's Secondary School Inspectors Department Official Ismail Al-Shatti addressed the audience on the occasion. Then a documentary was displayed. After that, the Minister honored and presented memorial awards for a number of devoted teachers and distinguished schools. For their parts, the teachers presented a memorial gift to His Highness the Amir. In his speech, Minister Al-Mulaifi congratulated the honored teachers and thanked them for their outstanding performance and sincere efforts to develop the outcome of education process in Kuwait. He urged them to continue their impressive work to better qualify the coming generations with their required skills to serve the dear homeland. He spoke highly about Kuwait leadership's unlimited support to the Ministry of Education and all educational institutions. On behalf of honored teachers, Al-Shatti expressed great pride of the honoring ceremony. He pointed out that the honoring would be a great motivation for excelled teachers continue their achievements and encourage others to excel in their work
