Gurgaon - Arab Today

The method of education has taken a huge leap in Gurgaon with many schools and colleges adopting various innovative measures. The city has observed a mushrooming of such schools and institutes offering education at different levels. Experts estimate that the educational sector here is growing at an annual rate of more than 20 per cent. According to India Ratings, due to the expected strong demand for quality education, the Indian education sector’s market size to increase to Rs 602,410 crore by fiscal year 2015. Indian education sector’s market size in fiscal year was estimated to be Rs 341,180 crore. The study suggests that during the year 2005-2012, the sector grew at a compounded annual growth rate of 16.5 percent. “Innovative education targets the overall growth of kids, which is a positive beacon for parents and attraction towards schools using such methods,” said Guneet Pandya, director & founder of the Unreal Academy. She said that when the Academy was established, this concept had only a handful of supporters and interested parents. The numbers grew quickly and steadily as children enrolled for various courses and started reaping its benefits. These education institutions are engaged in using innovative methods to impart education at every level. Adianta school of Gurgaon is adopting these method to bring management skills in its students. “If there is any hope for change and innovation in India it will come in some cities of India such as Gurgaon, Northern Bangalore, and Mumbai-Pune suburbs,” said said Dr Aditya Dev Sood, CEO and founder of Adianta School for leadership and innovation. He said that in these regions one can find the most open minded, creative and forward thinking people. The best schools are also coming up here. INVESTMENTS AND GROWTH The investment depends mainly on infrastructure and experience. These learning centres need more space as they are based on giving an experience. “The average investment to start up such a centre would approximately be around Rs 10 to 12 crores. This would also include the running cost for the year,” said Pandya of the Unreal Academy. “The growth prospect of such institutes is very high with many schools undergoing a complete makeover and offering a mix of creative and traditional curriculum,” said Pooja Goyal, director of Intellitots. She added that even CBSE has acknowledged a sea change to accommodate creative streams and ways of imparting education. She cited the year-on-year growth observed in Intellitots, which is around 100 percent. This figure vouches for the rising demand for such educational institution in the city. INNOVATIVE EDUCATION “The Adianta School has a cluster of mentors and associated companies, start-ups and other networks through which our students gain access to the corporate world and to the world of start-up innovation. We impart realworld skills of social networking, business planning and systematic innovation that open up the world of careers to them,” said Dr Sood. Pandya of the Unreal Academy said that the students have shown a successful growth in academics owing to innovative education. Their problem solving abilities, intellectual abilities, concentration and hence confidence showed a marked improvement. “The courses and methods of this school made parents realize that knowledge is a mere tool that aids children to go from imagination to innovation.” CITY HAILS INNOVATION Goyal of Intellitots said that Gurgaon has a huge population of discerning parents who are looking to give their children space, time and opportunities to explore and develop themselves. The mindset that engineering and medicine are the only two career options worth exploring is giving ways to an understanding that children will have myriads of career options to choose from. “The important thing is for children to identify what they enjoy doing, what they are good at and then pursuing it.” The experts also present a positive futuristic graph of this method of education and institutions. They say with the rise of awareness and demand such institutions are going to flourish in Gurgaon. Source: Education News
