Nearly 300 people waited in line for up to 9 hours at Valencia, Spain's, Goethe Institute to sign up for a course on the German language, UPI quoted an official as saying. "We had to double our teaching numbers last year to meet the increased demand," said Frank Monkemoller, co-director of Seville's ICA German language school. The Local.de reported that Spanish people are seeking German language centers in increasing numbers. Monkemoller said many of the students are educated, have a technical background and are looking to expand their career opportunities. "A lot of them already have a good level of English but see German as key to landing a job," he said. In May, Germany agreed to provide vocational training and jobs for young Spaniards who can't find employment in their home country.
