Deputy Minister for Higher Education and Scientific Research Essam Khamis asserted the depth of relations binding Egypt and China since the dawn of history, noting that the two countries have been at the forefront of countries seeking knowledge and established civilization for all mankind.
This came at a symposium held by the Egyptian-Chinese Friendship Society in Cairo under the title of "Future of Scientific and Educational Cooperation between Egypt and China within the framework of the Chinese President's visit to Egypt".
Khamis also said that Egyptians highly appreciate the Chinese civilizations and China's unique experiment which has turned it into a major economic power, noting that China has attached great importance to science and technology that turned it into a real developed country.
He also said that the two countries have cooperated in conducting 344 joint scientific researches that were published in 2015 about major sciences such as biology, agriculture, chemistry, energy, genetic engineering and others.
The deputy minister also said several Egyptian universities, including Ain Shams University, Cairo University, Suez Canal University and Fayoum University are cooperating with the Chinese universities in other researches.
