1. The School Bully Every school boasts of a nasty guy, who lurks around in the corridors, plotting and planning ways to dethrone the school favourite. In fact, school politics, are often restricted to a power play over popularity usually female/male attention. The snooty leader of the brat pack, Shekar (Deepak Tijori) in the popular school flick Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar messes around with his poorer school contemporary Sanjay (Aamir Khan). And while his deadly antics are entertaining, he's always the one who ends up losing the woman. 2. The Hot Teacher Apart from the customary hot guy and girl in the lead gang, schools can get a tad boring if it's not peppered with some glamour, mostly in the form of gorgeous teachers (male/female), though they never partake in the school romances. And with them around, there's never a dull moment in a student's life, at least not on celluloid. While it's English teacher Rahul Prakash (Shahid Kapoor), who wins over many female students' hearts in Paathshaala, it's the savvy Miss Naaz (Shenaz Treasurywala) in Luv Ka The End and the prim-and-proper Lily Vegas (Nandita Das) in Rockford, who set the pulse raising. 3. The Closet Artist The B-wood classrooms are mostly stereotypical, with shots of smoky test tubes in chemistry labs being a favourite, but there's also a fair share of song and dance thrown in but that's entirely a Bollywood routine. Occasionally we meet talented kids who excel in art or other subjects. It's poetry that allows Rohan (Rajat Barmecha) to vent out his teen angst in Udaan, while it's painting that opens up a completely new shade to Ishaan's (Darsheel) personality in TZP. 4. The Heart breaker There's always the perfect guy or gal, who feed their bloated egos by trashing every heartbeat that vies for their attention, only because they know that no matter what they'll always get away with it. And these spoilers always hail from the affluent neighbourhoods, indulging in a power play of a different kind. And when they aren't breaking hearts, like Luv Ka The End's cheeky Luv Nanda (Taaha Shah) who monopolises on his killer looks and lady-attracting magnetism, they tease us with their antics like in Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar where the snobbish Devika (Pooja Bedi) does a Marilyn Monroe, this time atop a car. 5. The Best Friend At the risk of sounding clichéd, it's inevitably the school friends who stick by forever, so even in B-town schools there emerges a loyal friend, who unfailingly stands by the lead guy through good and bad times. The most endearing bonds are the ones between Rohan (Rajat) and his turbaned pal Maninder (Manjot Singh), who continue to stay connected long after they leave school in Udaan, and the one where a physically challenged Rajan (Tanay Chheda) helps Ishaan (Darsheel), overcome his shortfalls in Taara Zameen Par.
