Minister of Education, Dr. Majid Bin Ali Al Nuaimi inaugurated Students Information Centre, with the presence of a number of officials at the ministry and the cooperative bodies with the centre, where the ceremony included some media events carried out by the students of the centre. Dr. Majid Al Nuaimi stressed the ministry’s concern for the gifted students in the media area, highlighting the distinctive role of the centre in supplying the Bahraini media arena with the national competencies in this field. During his meeting with a number of students from the centre, the minister pointed out that the media is considered the backbone of the human development through its communicative role with the public. Meanwhile, the ministry is keen through its various activities to care for the gifted at early stages, and among them those gifted in media, where they expect from the Students Information Centre to carry out a prominent role in preparing more students who are distinctive in the area of media and qualified to perform the media process, as well as presenting the light image of their nation. The minister also asserted the ministry’s commitment to develop the Students Information Centre, in addition to continue caring for the students including the gifted and those with special needs, in addition to those who have the opportunity for scholarships to complete their studies as an appreciation from the Kingdom for their talents in various areas. On the other hand, the Acting Director of the Students Information Centre, Raed Mohammed Ibrahim delivered a speech stressing the importance of the educational media in developing the students skills in the media area, as it is considered a necessity. Raed Mohammed Ibrahim also pointed out the role of the centre in the inclusion of gifted and talented students in order to contribute to showing the true image of Bahrain to the world. Raed Mohammed Ibrahim highlighted that the centre, and during the current academic year has attracted 86 male and female students in the areas of radio, television, press, social networking, and programmes of developing personal skills, where they held 16 workshops in the various media areas. Raed Mohammed Ibrahim also said that they will hold other workshops addressing the skills of analyzing the contents of the media messages, so as to train the students on how to receive information and identify the correct from it. For his part, the Director of Bahrain Television, Nabil Bu Hazza’a pointed out that the television, within its new programmes will embrace and support the Students Information Centre through the programme (Madrasati), which in collaboration with the affiliates of the centre, will transfer the schools news and achievements. In the meantime, Sana Saqr from Radio Bahrain highlighted that the radio greatly communicates with the Ministry of Education through covering the ministry’s activities, and the interviews it carries out with its officials, adding that the radio, through its new programmes will allocate a programme for kids and youth which sheds light on the participations of the Centre’s affiliates. At the end of the ceremony, the minister honoured the cooperative parties, the trainers, and the students at the centre.
