Bahrain University President Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Janahi signed a memorandum of academic cooperation with Egyptian University of Science and Technology President Dr. Sharif Sidqi.The University of Science and Technology is a key component of the Zewail City of Science and Technology. Dr. Janahi stressed the importance of the agreement, saying that it would lay the foundations for scientific cooperation, pointing out to fast-track the implementation of the deal..In a statement, he said that the nanotechnology centre, the Colleges of Engineering, Science and Health Science are best placed to start cooperation with Egyptian academic counterparts.The Zewail City of Science and Technology was founded by world-famed Egyptian physicist and Nobel Prize laureate Ahmed Zewail.Dr. Sidqi said that the mission of the university is to train an elite of gifted students to specialise in modern sciences and promote scientific research. He staged a presentation detailing the structure of Egyptian University of Science and Technology.Bahrain University Vice President for Planning and Development also update the Egyptian delegation on UoB programmes and centres. Under the deal, the two universities will promote joint academic and research cooperation, exchange visits, hold joint conferences and forums. The Egyptian delegation toured the University of Bahrain for an update on difference facilities.
