Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education Nayef Al-Hajraf said Sunday the education ministry was working on an ambitious plan to set framework for national curriculum. He underlined the national curriculum framework will serve as the main reference or what he called "the constitution of education process in Kuwait. "The National Curriculum Framework will define the standards of national education, the objectives of each subject and consequently the required teaching hours," Al-Hajraf said in symposium on the national curriculum framework, organized in cooperation with the World Bank. He pointed out that the educaiton ministry sought to reassess the required teaching hours for each subject. "The national framework will enable the Ministry and the National Center for Education Development to gauge the efficiency and the outcome of the educational system," Al-Hajraf said. He went on to say that "big steps have been taken in the integrated program for the development of the education process." He added that the Higher Education Council will review and approve the framework and monitor its implementation by the Ministry of Education. The Minister revealed that the new education plan of the primary stage is still under study.
