A Turkish court has lifted a ban on Twitter over graphic images of Monday’s Suruc bombing in southeastern Turkey.
Sanliurfa 2nd Penal Court of Peace lifted the restriction Wednesday afternoon.
An ruling earlier Wednesday had blocked access to websites and social media platforms hosting the images, made moments after an explosion killed 32 people in Turkey’s southeastern province of Sanliurfa.
The Suruc court brought in the restrictions after local prosecutors called for a ban.
Images of the blast had gone viral on social media and news outlets.
Monday’s bomb targeted a youth group holding a press conference, and also left more than 100 people wounded.
The restrictions came after Suruc prosecutor’s office appealed for a ban on the terror attack footage being broadcast.
Another Turkish ban on social media access was imposed in April over the publication of images showing a Turkish prosecutor killed in a hostage crisis.
Mehmet Selim Kiraz had been taken hostage by an outlawed Marxist-Leninist group on March 31 at Istanbul’s Caglayan Courthouse. He was later shot by his captors.
