The Japan National Police Agency said Friday that the servers of eight Japanese organizations, that fell under cyberattacks in 2015, were hacked, presumably, by the same hacktivists, Sputnik News agency reported.
The police also believe they are the same hackers who hacked the national pension system, when personal data of about 1.2 million people had been leaked, and the Tokyo Chamber of Commerce, leading to 12,000 cases of personal data being leaked.
Eight major Japanese structures, including Petroleum Association of Japan, Tokyo Chamber of Commerce and Industry, City Hall in Ueda in Nagano prefecture, the Hiroshima International Center and others have been attacked by EMDIVI virus.
According to the police, the way of infecting the organizations' computers coincides.
The investigation is currently ongoing.
