The National Election Committee, NEC, has launched its official network on social media as part of its commitment to use different media tools to keep society informed about the preparations for the Federal National Council Elections 2015, as well as to announce activities, events and news related to the committee. The official channel of the NEC, called ‘uaeelection', is available on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram.
The NEC is keen to enhance interaction with electoral entities and key segments of society by adopting the latest innovative platforms to transfer official information related to the Federal National Council Elections 2015.
The NEC will use these channels to convey relevant news and information issued by the committee. It said that through these channels, citizens will be able to access all the details of the various stages of the electoral process.
The committee has expressed the hope that the channels will help promote political participation and awareness, especially with regard to the electoral process. It described the launch of the official platform on social media as a new step towards implementing the political empowerment programme launched by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to develop a parliamentary culture in the UAE.
