ABC is trying got bring The Muppets back to the small screen.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the network is working on a pilot for a variety series featuring the puppet characters with a script from Big Bang Theory's co-creator Bill Prady.
Bob Kushell (of Anger Management and 3rd Rock From the Sun fame) will be the show runner and co-write the series and Wilfred's Randall Einhorn will executive produce and direct.
The revival is being produced by ABC Studios and Disney's The Muppet Studios. The series' pilot will be shot at Disney's Burbank studio next weekend.
The Muppet Show, a comedy-variety series featuring Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Billy the Bear, Bernie, Gonzo and many other marionettes, originally ran for five years until 1981 in Britain's ATV.
