German commercial TV channel Tele 5 will enable its advertising customers to target its audience in neighbouring Austria with customised commercials from 1 May 2012. The programme schedule will be identical to the channel's German version, only the commercial breaks will be different. Tele 5 Austria will be available as a digital free-to-air service in standard definition via satellite on Astra (19.2° East). Austrian cable and IPTV operators will also be able to carry the channel. The Austrian advertising slots will be marketed by Austrian broadcast group ATV which, like Tele 5, is owned by Herbert Kloiber's German media company Tele München Gruppe. In Austria, ATV operates commercial channels ATV and ATV2.
