Many are questioning if Brian Williams will be returning to NBC Nightly News, and some are wondering how much it would cost to let him go.
Politico's Mike Allen stated there is speculation Williams would get a $20 to $30 million severance package if NBC decides to let him go. Michael Wolff at USA Today claims Williams should just be brought back since cable news shows haven't been held to the highest journalistic standards for some time.
The controversy is over Williams having repeatedly misstated the history of his war reporting, as well as recent news that NBC has found several more stories Williams did that may have been improperly reported.
Lester Holt has been in charge of Williams' show while the network decides if Williams will return. The ratings have been competitive while Holt has been hosting, but not quite as good as before.
