Locally-made reality TV show South Africa's Got Talent is to premier on e.tv in September, after the broadcaster poached the internationally successful show from the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC). "We are delighted that Got Talent will make its debut on e.tv. Got Talent has been hugely successful around the globe and we think it has enormous potential in South Africa, given the vast pool of talent in the country," said Trish Kinane, president of worldwide entertainment with Fremantle Media, the ...Got Talent format-owner. "We look forward to seeing what South Africa's Got Talent will uncover, and I have no doubt the show will be just as popular with e.tv's audiences as it has been worldwide," she added. The third series of South Africa's Got Talent, produced by Rapid Blue, will now join a raft of other locally made reality TV shows on e.tv, including Step Up Or Step Out, So What, Rolling with..., and Blame It On Fame. Monde Twala, channel head, e.tv said: "We are excited that South Africa's Got Talent will form part of our programme offering. This reality show gives e.tv an opportunity to showcase a large variety of South African talent across a variety of categories/genres." The first two seasons of South Africa's Got Talent aired on SABC 2 in 2009 and 2010.
