Ukraine’s National Broadcasting Council has issued a report saying Ukrainian TV channels are back on air in the eastern Ukrainian cities of Sloviansk, Mariupol and Kramatorsk. Ukrainian troops regained control over these cities following more than a month of fighting with the volunteer self-defense forces that support the federalization of the country.
Council member Alexander Ilyashenko said Russian TV was out of viewers’ access in the towns and cities of Artemivsk, Kostiantynivka, Dmytrovo, and Druzhkivka.
“Russian channels are also off the air in Sloviansk, Mariupol and in the south of the Odessa region,” he said.
