Maan Network on Thursday announced that it was holding casting auditions for a stand-up competition as part of its Ramadan broadcast schedule. 'Stand Up Comedy' will search for the Comedian of Palestine. The judging panel will include a number of professional comedians and actors. The series aims to show the lighter side of Palestine, the network said, and allow young Palestinians to show off their acting skills. The show will air in July for the holy month of Ramadan. The announcement follows an invitation to the public on Wednesday to apply for a place on a new cooking show competition called 'Palestine Chef,' also set for broadcast during Ramadan.
