Political news and programs sector of Kuwait Television announced on Sunday the launch of a project to develop methods of receiving videotaped global news. Assistant Undersecretary for news and political programs Youssef Mustafa told KUNA that the sector of is inaugurating a new phase of development, represented in the reception of videotaped world news through world agencies using digital system from Reuters, the Associated Press and CNN, and the abolition of the old satellite system. He said that the current system is dependent on the reception of videotaped news through their own sites on the internet, adding that this system will enable news editors to enter such sites directly and deal with the news immediately, without waiting for materials to be sent by the archive center. He pointed out that the technical equipment are currently being installed.
