DUBAI, 8th February, 2015 (WAM)--"Al-Furdah: From the Berth to the Screen" is a new television programme sponsored and presented by Dubai Customs in partnership with Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI).
The first episode of this programme kicks off tomorrow on Sama Dubai TV channel.
Prepared and presented by Dubai Customs' Corporate Communication Department, the 13-episode TV program airs weekly every Sunday at 9pm, and repeats through Mondays at 5am and 11am and Tuesdays at 2pm. The broadcast will last three months.
The show presenter Khalil Saqer bin Gharib, Director of Communication Department at DC, said, "The programme aims to highlight the pivotal role Dubai Customs plays in facilitating legitimate trade and protecting society. It will also shed light on major relevant services provided by other government entities in Dubai and in the UAE at large, especially being the first-of-its-kind program in the Middle East to be presented by a Customs organisation." Al-Furdah programme is the first fruit of joint collaboration between Dubai Customs and DMI following the signing of a mutual cooperation agreement in March 2014.
The agreement is aimed at joining efforts to fulfil the Dubai Government's vision, boost cooperation, share expertise and knowledge in the multimedia work field, and ultimately enhance Dubai's economic and commercial standing in the local and international media.
"The broadcast will feature eminent national and regional figures in the realms of security, economy, environment, customs, and will discuss several topics related to the role of government institutions in the community, matters of economic development, environment, security, health, heritage, and Dubai's achievements, among other things of interest to various spectrums of society," stated Khalil Saqer.
The Director of Corporate Communications at DC further noted that "The inaugural episode of Al-Furdah program titled "Dubai Customs: Gateway to Dubai's Prosperity" will host Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director of Dubai Customs. The guest will shed some light on the efforts of Dubai Customs in safeguarding the security and safety of this nation, upholding its economic and commercial capabilities, and promoting its thriving cultural image in front of visitors, tourists and residents arriving to the country".
The episode will also touch upon Dubai Customs' achievements throughout the long journey towards meeting its vision of being the leading customs administration in the world supporting legitimate trade, and how DC harnesses new technology in its everyday operations for the betterment of Customs work and therefore further facilitation of trade. Other topics will include GCC Customs Union, DC's CSR initiatives, and plans for World Expo 2020.
