Bahrain Journalists Association (BJA) strongly condemned threatening Al Arabiya correspondent in Bahrain Mohammed Al Arab by London-based Lualua TV Director Yasser Al Sayegh. “Because of your coverage of the incidents in Bahrain, we threaten you of retribution,” Al Sayegh said to Al Arab. Al Arab held Al Wefaq National Islamic Society, which owns the channel, responsible for his physical safety as well as the safety of his personal properties. BJA requested the Interior Ministry to take immediate legal action to provide Al Arab with the needed protection so as he can do his job freely and without any intimidation. The association also denounced the attack which targeted Al Arabiya crew at the City Centre yesterday in which Mohammed Al Arab and Fahd Saud, Al Arabiya Net Editor-in-Chief, were physically assaulted and had their cameras confiscated.
