Cameron has hosted the morning program on ABC Sydney 702 for four years.She joined in January 2008 from The Sydney Morning Herald, taking over from Virginia Trioli.Cameron, who is popular with listeners but has many detractors, said: “After four very enjoyable years with 702 ABC Sydney, I will be leaving the ABC to pursue fresh challenges."I want to thank my enthusiastic listeners, my loyal and dedicated production staff, and the ABC in general for giving me this wonderful opportunity.”Andy Henley, Local Content Manager ABC Local Radio NSW, praised Cameron but said the program needed to be "refreshed".“Deborah has been a valued member of the 702 team over the past four years, growing a loyal audience in the Mornings timeslot. We are deeply appreciative of the significant contribution Deborah has made to the station and wish her all the best for her future career.“We feel it is time for the program to be refreshed and will be announcing a new presenter for the Mornings program in due course."
