“Today’s Media is not like Yesterday’s” is the theme of the First Youth Media Forum that opened at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) on Sunday.
The Forum opened under the patronage of Dr. Abdul Mon’em bin Mansour Al Hassani, Minister of Information.
The Minister of Information said that organising this forum shows the cultural maturity of the SQU youths through conducting lectures, workshops and dialogue sessions, as well as through inviting media professionals and interested persons in the media in general.
The forum included several sessions on its first day, including a book and story session. The forum will continue its activities tomorrow and day after tomorrow with a series of other sessions, including a session on “Press without Borders”.
The forum aims to attract local and GCC media professionals and young Omanis to share ideas, suggestions, expertise and successful experiences of media initiatives and people, including media programs on social media or cultural and social media campaigns through various activities.
Challenges
It also aims to identify major challenges in the media field facing the Arab community in general and Oman in particular while seeking to find suitable solutions.
