Journalist Yehia al-Madhoun released a new book titled “The Computer in Media: Digital Media”. Al-Madhou, a lecturer in media programs at Al-Azhar University in Gaza said his book examines the role of computers and internet on media development. The book is divided into four main sections: digital media technology, digital photography technology, film and television technology and practical applications of social networks. The book looks at new digital media technology with all its various influential tools on to the technology of digital photography. The reader is given a step-by-step guide of the creation of social networks and the use of technologies to manage their contents. Al-Madhoun said his book can enable media students to build and run content for social networking tools such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google+ and Flickr. It also helps them hone their skills in photography and video editing software such as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premier. He hopes the book will give students an opportunity to compete in the media world that demand journalists to possess a great deal of practical skill with computers and internet.
