The pro Qaeda ISIL (the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant) claimed responsibility for Monday, Dec. 23, attack on the Salaheddin Satellite Channel in Tikrit. In a statement issued on Tuesday, Dec. 24, the ISIL claimed responsibility for the attack against Salaheddin Satellite Channel in Tikrit, which resulted in the killing and wounding of tens of the Channels’ staff members. On Monday afternoon an armed group stormed the Salaheddin Satellite Channel offices in Tikrit, with suicide attackers killing and wounding a number of the Channel’s staff (telecasters and technician), as well as taking others hostages, before police and the military are able to storm the building killing 7 gunmen, while 8 of the Channel’s staff members wounded.
