The Palestinian Arabic dailies focused on Sunday on remarks made by former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak, who said that the current governing coalition led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu "is exhibiting signs of fascism."
Al-Ayyam quoted French Prime Minister Manuel Valls, who said that the French Peace Initiative aims at reinforcing the criteria of peace and setting a timeline for a peace conference.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida and al-Ayyam said Chairman of the Zionist Union party and lead opposition figure in the Knesset Isaac Herzog accused Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu of wasting a plan “that would have undoubtedly changed the face of the region."
Al-Quds said that Netanyahu is facing international pressure to take back his decision to assign Avigdor Lieberman as “Defense” Minister.
On a different subject, al-Quds said that Chairman of the United Nations Security Council Counter-Terrorism Committee Amr Aboulatta called for ending the suffering of the Palestinian people.
Al-Ayyam said a Palestinian youth was injured when Israeli soldiers, stationed along the border with Gaza, opened live fire at him.
