Time magazine has featured a picture by Jordanian photojournalist Mohammad Abu Ghosh, which depicts a young Syrian refugee entering Jordan with a pet parrot. Abu Ghosh, who edits the photography section at Jordan’s al-Ghad newspaper, reportedly took the photograph during a press tour of border crossings being used by displaced persons fleeing the Syrian conflict. The picture was featured in Time’s Close Up section, which gathers the best photographs from around the world each week. Abu Ghosh has won multiple press awards for his work, both in Jordan and around the world.
