Kaley Cuoco clarified on Instagram Thursday the seemingly anti-feminism comments she made in the upcoming February issue of Redbook magazine.
Cuoco, who is married to professional tennis player Ryan Sweeting, is quoted in her cover interview saying that she doesn't feel like a feminist and loves "felling like a housewife." After multiple media outlets weighted in on her comments the actress shared a clarification on social media.
"In my Redbook article ,some people have taken offense to my comments regarding feminism- if any of you are In the "biz" you are well aware of how words can be taken out of context," Cuoco, 29, captioned a photo from a page of her Redbook spread.
"I'm completely blessed and grateful that strong women have paved the way for my success along withmany others. I apologize if anyone was offended. Anyone that truly knows me, knows my heart and knows what I meant."
In an extract of the piece published last week, the Big Bang Theory star, who recently locked in a $1 million-per episode deal for her work on the show, said feminism is "not really something [she thinks] about."
"Things are different now, and I know a lot of the work that paved the way for women happened before I was around," she explained. "I was never that feminist girl demanding equality, but maybe that's because I've never really faced inequality."
Cuoco's full interview with the magazine will be available on Jan. 6, when the next issue of Redbook hits stands.
