The UAE presided over meeting of the Arab Electronic Media Committee which began today at the Arab League General Secretariat's Headquarters in Cairo with the participation of Arab media experts.
Deputy Executive Director of the Emirates News Agency, WAM, and Chairman of the meeting, Mohammed Jalal Al Raisi, said the two-day meeting will discuss many issues including the follow-up on the implementation of the recommendations of the Arab Electronic Media Committee issued in its last meeting held in October, and the semi-annual report presented by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to develop the panel's work.
The participants of the meeting approved Al Raisi's proposal to add an item on the agenda dealing with ways to fight the phenomenon of terrorism through electronic media. Al Raisi also praised the fact that the meeting was well-organised, wishing that it would come up with important recommendations.
Fawzi Al Ghweel, head of the technical department of the Council of Arab Ministers of Information, on the occasion said that the meeting is being held as part of the implementation of resolutions issued by the permanent committee of the electronic media, chaired by the UAE.
