Minister of State for Information Affairs and Government’s Official Spokesperson Sameera Ebrahim bin Rajab hosted a reception ceremony at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Moscow, on the sidelines of her current visit to Russia.
Addressing the event which was attended by Russian journalists, she outlined political developments and wide-ranging achievements, highlighting ongoing preparations in the run-up to the upcoming parliamentary and municipal elections-2014.
The minister stressed preparations to cover the upcoming crucial polls, outlining a package of programmes which would project Bahrain’s honourable media image and contribute to the success of the parliamentary and municipal elections, being a defining national event in the march of the reform and democratic process.
The minister extended an invitation to journalists from all countries to visit Bahrain and cover the elections and get update on landmark national achievements and successes in all fields and sectors. She highlighted Bahrain’s atmosphere of media and press freedom and openness thanks to the reform project which was initiated by His Majesty the King.
"The Kingdom of Bahrain is witnessing tangible media strides on the path to consolidating the freedom of opinion and expression and developing professional media competence", she said.
